Welcome to Southon Plants

Southon plants nursery is the home of the new and unusual tender and hardy perennial.

Specialising in new and unusual tender and hardy perennials and shrubs, Southon Plants Nursery grows over 95% of it's own plants from stock. Situated at the crossroads of Kent, Sussex and Surrey we are ideally placed to serve the South East. We Mail Order to any part of the U.K. Check out our online catalogue and our online store. We are currently working hard to have all our plants ready for the Spring. Come and see our wonderful display of colour. Our Patio area is now completed and our hanging baskets display is breath taking.

On maturity of our specimen garden (displaying some of the unusual perennials, shrubs & plants cultivated at Southon) in time we hope to have a light refreshment area.

We shall be exhibiting at the relevant shows in our area throughout 2008.

Gold Medal winner at the Edenbridge and Oxted show 27th Aug 2007.

We have a huge car park. Our staff are always willing to help customers load their purchases into their cars.

All our Perennial Plants are cultivated with a 24 month Vine Weavel control and 12 month Slow Release Fertiliser. We also mix our own compost at the nursery so we can mix the soil to suit the plants which includes a dry, medium and wet compost mix. This means you won't find a plant in our nursery which likes well-drained soil growing in pure peat soil which has little chance of making it through the winter.
This ensures our plants are sold to you in a healthy state giving them the best chance of healthy growth.

Southon Plants is a working nursery, that said we try to keep our access ways open and uncluttered for disabled access.

The owner is a true plantsman so you will find many unusual plants in the nursery some may not even be on our web site as we grow new varieties all through the year. The local garden centres source their unusual plants from us. Please come and look around, we are pleased to take most credit and debit cards.
